Title: References made to the passing away of Sarvashri A.M. Cheelachami
(fifth Lok Sabha) on 2nd December, 1997 and Shri Ram Naresh Singh (Ninth and Tenth Lok Sabha)
on 26th December, 1998.

MR. SPEAKER: Hon. Members, I have to inform the House of the sad demise of two of our former colleagues, namely, Sarvashri A.M. Chellachami and Ram Naresh Singh.
Shri A.M. Chellachami was a member of Fifth Lok Sabha representing Tenkasi Parliamentary Constituency of Tamil Nadu from 1971 to 1977.
A teacher and an agriculturist by profession, Shri Chellachami was a well-known social and political worker. He was associated with various organisations in different capacities. He worked relentlessly for the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden, promotion of adult education and development of the rural areas. He took keen interest in the field of poultry and dairy farming.
An able parliamentarian, Shri Chellachami was a member of the Committee on Private Members' Bills and Resolutions from 1973 to 1975 and the Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes from 1975 to 1977.
Shri A.M. Chellachami passed away at Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu on 2nd December, 1997 at the age of 65.
Shri Ram Naresh Singh was a member of Ninth and Tenth Lok Sabhas representing Aurangabad Parliamentary Constituency of Bihar from 1989 to 1991 and from 1991 to 1996.
Earlier, Shri Singh was a member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from Earlier 1977 to 1985. During the period, he was a member of various Committees in the State Legislative Assembly.
An able parliamentarian, Shri Singh was a member of Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Energy in 1990 and Parliamentary Committee on Transport and Tourism from 1993 to 1996.
An agriculturist by profession, Shri Singh was a well-known social and political worker. He worked relentlessly for the promotion of education and rural development.
Shri Ram Naresh Singh passed away on 26th December, 1998 at Aurangabad, Bihar at the age of 63.
We deeply mourn the loss of these friends and I am sure the House will join me in conveying our condolences to the bereaved families.
