THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF POWER (DR. S.  VENUGOPALA  CHARI):  I
beg  to  move  for  leave  to  introduce  a  Bill  further to amend the Indian
Electricity Act, 1910 and the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948.

MR. DEPUTY-SPEAKER : The question is:

        
        "That leave be granted to introduce a Bill further to amend the
        Indian Electricity Act, 1910 and the Electricity (Supply)  Act,
        1948."

        
 The motion was adopted.

showing reasons for immediate legislation by the Electricity Laws  (Amendment)
Ordinance, 1997.
